In case there's anyone who hasn't yet heard, Archive Of Our Own finally opened in Beta last week and I was lucky enough to get in there with my username:

Since this IS still in Beta, there are some bugs to work out (my biggest issue is still with the em-dash not converting properly and sometimes cutting fics off entirely mid-way. If anyone sees weird formatting in any of my fics there, let me know.) I've been uploading fics there, but it's slow-going right now. Hopefully once the issues are fixed, it'll go faster. :)

Since I'm still getting new requests in old memes (which is great, thanks!), I've started adding tags to all the memes to reflect what fandoms have been requested in each one. :)

It's been a while since I changed this journal to Friends Only, and I did have my reasons at the time for doing so. Likewise, I have reason now to change back to a public setting, and hopefully won't have to switch back again (but then, I can't predict the future. We'll see how it goes. :) I'm still debating whether SOME fics should be Friends Only (adult ratings, real people fics, etc), but for now, everything is open.

Also, I have anonymous commenting enabled again, but as a precaution, anonymous comments will be screened.

Thanks to all of you for your patience in having to sign up with IJ to access the fics during the time when everything was F-locked. I truly appreciate it, and would still love to add more Friends here or over on Dreamwidth. :)

After investigating Dreamwidth on the suggestion of a friend, I found that I really liked the look of it as well as many of the features that aren't available on LJ or IJ. I paid the shot for a Seed Account for my personal journal there, and used an invite code for a mirror fic journal there like this one.

This doesn't mean I'm abandoning IJ! The beauty of Dreamwidth is that you can crosspost entries between journal sites, so all it means for you guys is that if you happened to have a Dreamwidth and you prefer to read the stories there instead of here, you can do that. The journal importing feature brought over all the entries, plus comments, tags, and my profile (but not icons, because I don't have the storage space there for them.) What it also did is automatically generated Open ID accounts for anyone who has ever commented on my entries in the past.

Like I said, this doesn't change anything here -- all entries will be crossposted between the two sites unless an entry happens to be IJ or Dreamwidth specific (like this one.)

I've been Friends Only here for a while, but thought it was about time I made a banner for it. ^_^

If you want to be Friended here, I'll gladly do so, just let me know and I'll add you. If you're wondering why I went this route, there are explanations in earlier ADMIN posts.

Speaking of celebrating, our wedding is next week, yay! We met the Justice of the Peace yesterday and it looks like we're having it here at the house (at least we finally found decent clothes to wear! @_@)

Hey everyone,

I'm really sorry that I haven't posted anything new in a while (Sprefvent and X-Men Family don't count, as I wrote those chapters a long time ago.) I do WANT to write, but there have been Real Life issues to deal with instead. My wrists hurt all the time now -- some days are better than others, but there's always a degree of pain when I type -- so that's one problem, especially as I'm required to type all day for work. I've tried using a voice recognition program which I hope will help to some degree in the future, but haven't had time to practice with it enough yet that it can make a difference.

The other issue is that my wife has been off work sick since mid-November, and getting help from the doctors has been tediously slow (damn our backed-up medical system.) I haven't been able to focus well on writing during this time, and whenever I've tried, my wrists work against me. -_-;

I'm not giving up (I've been working on the next Changechildren chapter when I'm able), but I just wanted you to know why nothing much has been posted lately. Even once my wife is well, my wrist problem will persist, but so will I, because I'm just that stubborn. I just might have to take it slower than I'm used to (the faster I type, the more it hurts.)

P.S. If anyone's wondering why I've got the wedding layout going on in here, it's because nisshi and I are going to celebrate our 10-year anniversary by getting married legally on January 9th, 2009! (our first wedding in 1999 was unofficial, because same-sex marriage wasn't made legal in Canada until 2005.)

In light of some misconceptions that I have been made aware of, I need to clarify something about my previous ADMIN post. I made an edit to that post, but am concerned that the people I've Friended won't see the edit due to new chapters posted yesterday pushing it down the list.

The reason I went Friends Only here has nothing to do with reviews, and Friending this journal is NOT a contract saying you're forced to review, please do not think that! The reason I shut the journal off from the public is this:

I took down everything I had on ff.net two days ago when I found out about this. I had over 500 reviews on Changechildren there, so that should indicate how serious I am about this and also let you know that while I enjoy reviews, they are not as important as protecting my personal life.

Speaking of Changechildren, there's something else I need to say.

I feel badly that there are many of you monitoring this journal waiting for that particular story when nothing has been forthcoming for a long time. It has always been stated in my userinfo that I never promise to finish anything and this may be an example of that. I have no idea when or even if there will be another chapter. I really HOPE to continue it, because I still love Prince of Tennis, but other fandoms are tugging at my inspiration right now, so I feel I should let you off the hook.

I will always update the userinfo with notations of the newest works as soon as they're posted, so if you don't want to keep the journal Friended while you're waiting (thus cluttering your F-list with unwanted stories), that's fine, I'll keep you Friended myself and then if you see the userinfo is updated to include Changechildren, you can Friend me again and read the chapter.

I'm sorry for all the confusion and hope this helps to clarify.

Yes, I realize this will mean fewer readers, but I'm not getting feedback from 95% of them, anyway, so I won't be missing much. I have my reasons for needing to do this that are not a reflection on anyone here, but are nevertheless important to me.

When I had writer's block, I made great use of prompts I found in journal communities and realized no one had anything like that on Yahoogroups, so here it is:

Originally, I intended to make this a prompt community for family-style discipline-oriented ficlets only. However, Yahoogroups has a weird quirk lately where they slap any new list with certain keywords in the description straight into the 'adult' section, and I didn't want that (apparently, 'spanking' is one of those words. Go figure.)

So while this prompt list is open to ALL kinds of fics, keep in mind that there WILL be discipline-oriented fics there and that they are welcome by the list owner. :)

You can alter the prompts to suit yourselves in your own ficlets. You may or may not include the actual prompt in the body of your ficlet, or just use it for inspiration. It's all up to you -- the prompts are just there as an aid to get you started.

Check out the Links over there to find out how to get your own Cool Timer. It's a great little program that can help you to make sure you don't go over those fifteen minutes when writing!

The Database will be kept up with every weekly prompt, so that way you can utilize the older ones as well as the current ones.

If you read the note at the end of Part 63, you know I’m going to proceed with future chapters in ways that suit my own preferences. This means there is a good chance that the story will, at some point, contain one or more (if not all) of the following:

Outlandish situations that aren’t necessarily explained.
Detailed sex scenes.
Detailed discipline scenes.
Crossovers with other series.
Complete and utter disregard for canon in any given series.

Originally, I did not plan to keep posting the fic publicly, thinking that readers would not be interested in the story’s new path. The overwhelmingly positive response has made me decide to keep posting it. The next consideration is whether or not comments will be enabled, screened, or turned off. I may have to experiment with all three options.

Comments, even if enabled, are not necessary, but encouragement is always welcome. However, this is NOT a story where I’m looking for a critique, so the rules for comments are simple:

-Don’t correct me on canon; I KNOW canon. This story isn’t it.

-No disparaging comments about corporal punishment. Don’t like it, don’t read it.

-If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything. Silence won’t offend me or stop me from posting – negativity might.

If this notice seems excessive or unreasonable, please understand that it is past experience that makes it necessary. I’m just trying to have fun here. :)

Just to let readers know, I'm going to start posting some older fics of mine here that I haven't put up in this particular location before. Please read all warnings at the top of each fic carefully.

Also, please forgive any formatting errors. I've tried to change some of these fics between much-older word processors, and not all of them were co-operative, so I did much of it by hand and may have missed a few things.

Because I've been writing several fics lately that take place in the AU created by Michiru and I for our ongoing verbal RPG, I thought I'd write up a few details about it as reference, in case anyone is confused about some of the basics when they read those fics.

I'm Haruka, and I've been posting my fanfiction on the net since 1997. I've written about characters from anime like Prince of Tennis, Sailormoon, Hunter x Hunter, Fruits Basket, Fushigi Yuugi, Rurouni Kenshin, YYH, FF8, and more, plus other genres like X-Men Evolution, Batman/Robin, Teen Titans, LOTR, Impulse, etc.
