Wow. I am *really* impressed at how well you handled this. I also really liked that you didn't shy away from having Rio do something truly bad... something he knew before he did it that he shouldn't.

And the ending absolutely was touching. The way that Mele forgave him made me almost want to cry for her. I believed that he wouldn't do it again, but I'm really glad that her forgiveness made him feel worse.

Also, the way you wrote Rio and Gou was equally heartbreaking. The thoughts of what might have been, if only... the desire to recapture the past... these motivations made Rio's actions comprehendable and made him seem very human.

I particularly liked this sentence - He left Rio standing alone with his mouth partly open, lips still feeling the tingling pressure of memory.
