Chocolate Temptation (X-Men: Evolution)

It was fondue night at the X-Mansion, and as hilarious as it was to see Kurt working three fondue forks at once with the help of his tail or Evan to bypass the forks entirely in favour of using one of his spikes, Scott was preoccupied with watching Rogue as she dipped the bright red strawberries into the pot of melted chocolate and then lift it to her lips where she took delicate, tentative bites, savouring each one. His eyes followed one thin line of chocolate as it slipped down a corner of her mouth.

"Oops!" she laughed, covering it with her hand. "Ah'd better get a napkin!" She got up and headed for the kitchen.

"Bring some back with you, please!" Kitty called after her.

"Scott," Jean tapped his shoulder, "your strawberry just fell into the pot."

He hadn't noticed, his gaze focused on Rogue's departing back. "I need some water," he said absently, getting up to follow her.

In the kitchen, he found her pulling a paper towel off the roll, moistening it at the sink and wadding it up. Scott deftly plucked it from her fingers. "Allow me," he said. She stared into the ruby quartz glasses as he took soft swipes at her chin with the towel, keeping it between his fingers and her skin at all times. He finished by gliding it carefully, slowly across her lips. "All gone," he murmured.

She reached up and gently took the paper from him, her gloved fingers lingering against his for a long moment.

"Hey, hurry with those napkins, guys!" Evan called out. "Kurt just dropped his fork in the pot and splattered us all!"

Scott and Rogue shared a secret smile before heading back out to the kitchen with the entire paper towel roll.
