Trio Trials - Part 35 (Sailormoon) *Final chapter/Unfinished*

NOTE: This is an alternate universe crossover story, so you can expect anything and everything from character ages being changed to men being mothers. Contains yaoi/yuri relationships. It stars the Amazon Trio from Sailormoon SS, but eventually has characters such as the Three Lights from Sailorstars, and others from Rurouni Kenshin, Yuu Yuu Hakushou, Fushigi Yuugi, Gundam Wing, Fruits Basket, etc. Not meant to be canon.

I began this fic in 1998 and stopped writing it for a long time at Part 32, then added a couple of extra chapters. I reserve the right to resume writing it again at any time. ;)

Seiya rushed back and forth, grabbing things from the floor and off the bed. He couldn’t believe that his mother had decided to send Fish Eye up to his room without giving him a chance to clean up and make it look less like a pit. Of course, his mother pointed out that if he kept it clean regularly he wouldn’t have to worry about surprises like this.

Despite the room, though, knowing Fish Eye had come to see him had his heart pounding. It was the first time the pretty blue-haired boy had actually wanted to speak to him since discovering his secret and he didn’t want to blow it.

He had just finished forcing a stuffed drawer shut when he thought he heard a knock through the music blaring from his CD player. He leaped over the bed, hit the ‘off’ button on the player, and pulled open the door. Fish Eye looked at him shyly. “Hi.”

“Hi! Welcome to my room,” Seiya greeted and stood aside to let him in.

“Thanks,” Fish Eye said and stepped inside, looking around at the music and sports posters and memorabilia. “It’s nice,” he said, smiling. “Very ‘you’.”

Seiya grinned and waved a hand toward the bed. “Have a seat.”

Fish eye sat down and smoothed a hand over the bedspread. “I guess I should start by apologizing for ignoring you this past week.”

“Hey, no, don’t.” Seiya pulled out the chain from his desk and sat on it backwards. “It was my fault for not telling you about my female form.”

“Well,” Fish Eye said slowly, “we’d only had one date. I guess I can understand why you’d not want to give up your biggest secret right off the bat.”

“But you told me yours – about your mid-way forms and you being able to turn into a fish.” Seiya gave him an earnest look. “I owed you the same trust.”

Fish Eye smiled sadly. “How can I blame you considering how I reacted?”

Seiya glanced down at the rug, then raised midnight-blue eyes to gaze at the other boy uneasily. “So do you really hate the idea? Of me being a gender-changer?”

“You mean of you being a _girl_,” Fish Eye corrected.

Seiya sighed. “Well, yeah. I can be either, so you’re bound to see me that way sometimes.”

Fish Eye nodded. “Of course. I wouldn’t ask you to be less than you are.” He averted his eyes and bit his lip. “I’ve never been attracted to girls, Seiya. Not even a little bit.”

“Right.” Seiya stood up and tried to keep the disappointment out of his voice, “Thanks for your honesty.” He stopped as he felt a hand on his arm and looked down into the other boy’s deep blue eyes.

“I may not be physically attracted to your girl form, but it doesn’t mean we have to give up everything, does it?”

“I-I don’t know,” Seiya answered. “What exactly are you saying?”

“I’m saying I’d like to date you again,” Fish Eye told him. “And I can be friends with your girl form, can’t I?”

Seiya looked thoughtful, then smiled. “We can try it out and see how it goes.”

Fish Eye returned the smile. “Great.” He sat up straight and gave a polite bow of his head. “Seiya Kou, I would like to officially ask you out on our second date.”

“And I gladly accept,” Seiya answered with a sober nod of his own. Both of them dissolved into laughter.

“So where are we going to go _this_ time?” Seiya asked.

“We’ll think of something,” Fish Eye said. “But one thing for sure – my brothers better not follow us THIS time!”

Haruka breathed in the scent of Michiru’s green hair. They were watching a movie, and had ended up with Haruka laying on the Kaiou sofa with Michiru nestled back against her. Haruka’s arms wrapped comfortably around her as she rested her chin on top of her girlfriend’s head.

Kurama came downstairs and grinned as he spotted the pair on the couch. “Now what if _I_ wanted to sit there, too?”

“You’d have to use the chair,” Haruka remarked.

“Or the floor,” Michiru added.

Kenshin entered from the kitchen. “Setsuna and I just made brownies. Would you like some when they cool?”

“Yes, please,” Michiru said.

“You bet!” Haruka grinned. “And thanks!”

“I’ll have one when I get home,” Kurama said, pulling on his jacket. “I’m meeting Yui and Inuyasha at the mall, and we’ll probably get food there.”

“You and Inuyasha are okay together?” Haruka inquired. “Youko isn’t feeling territorial?”

“Only at first,” Kurama explained. “He’s actually kind of enjoying having another demon around now.”

“What about you?” Michiru asked mischievously. “You’re not feeling territorial about Yui?”

Her younger brother gave her an oh-come-on look. “How many times do I have to say this? Just because you and your childhood friend fell in love doesn’t mean that Yui and I have to be boyfriend/girlfriend. She’s my best friend and I love her, but I’m not IN love with her.”

Kenshin patted his son’s back and smiled. “It’s all right, Kurama, you don’t have to defend yourself. Your sister is only teasing you.”

“She’s been teasing me on THAT particular subject for years,” Kurama said dryly. “It’s getting old.”

“Show your big sister a little respect, bratling.” Michiru shook a finger at him, but her blue eyes twinkled.

“I do!” He grinned. “As little as possible! See you later, everyone.” He left, laughing.

“I’ll have to bug Yui some about it, I’ve been letting her off the hook too much lately.” Haruka chuckled.

“I’m going out!” Inuyasha announced and headed for the door. Not receiving an answer, he frowned. If he just left without anyone aware of it, he knew he’d catch hell for it from Maria later.

His ears twitched as he picked up on muffled sounds coming from the kitchen, and he changed direction to follow them.

He had just walked in with his mouth open to repeat his intentions when his jaw dropped instead. Maria and Kanna were kissing, right there in the kitchen! When had THEY gotten together?!

“Hey, quit blocking the door,” Duo told him, trying to move past him to get into the kitchen with Kyo following. Inuyasha put out an arm to stop them.

“Check it out,” he growled, watching the two young women.

Duo chuckled. “I guess now they can express themselves openly – they’ve been hiding it for so long.”

Inuyasha turned sharply to stare at him. “YOU knew about it?”

“Sure,” Duo grinned, “didn’t you?”

“My guess would be no,” Kyo commented and Inuyasha glared at him.

“YOU shut up!”

Maria suddenly appeared, looming over them. “What is going on over here?”

Kyo took a couple of steps back, but Duo smiled. “Inuyasha’s feeling left out,” he remarked. “He didn’t know about you and Kanna.”

“We weren’t exactly advertising it with Rogue and Remy around.” Kanna winked. “Don’t feel badly, Inuyasha.”

“I don’t!” He snorted. “I just wanted to tell you I’m going out. I don’t care WHAT the two of you do together.” Spinning on his heel, he reached for the doorknob.

“Where are you going and with whom?” Maria asked.

“The mall with people!” Inuyasha retorted and was out the door before she could ask for clarification.

“That boy,” she muttered. Kanna put her large hands on the other woman’s shoulders and massaged them.

“Relax, he’ll be okay,” she said and steered Maria out of the kitchen doorway. “Go ahead, guys, help yourselves.”

Kyo skirted around both of them carefully and preceded Duo into the kitchen. “Is Dog Boy always so temperamental?” he asked.

“Pretty much!” Duo said, opening the fridge.

“Huh,” Kyo replied. “Guess that’s something else he and I have in common.”
