Sprefvent - Compilation 26 (Crossover)

The following wasn't written as a fic, but rather as (edited) excerpts from a SPANKING RPG called ‘Spanking Refugee Vent’ or ‘Sprefvent’ for short. In it I play characters from various fandoms including Prince of Tennis, Loveless, Sailormoon, X-Men, Death Note, Fruits Basket etc. The setting for some of my characters is based in Michiru’s and my Alternate Universe and so are not necessarily canon. Same-sex relationships may be included. Please note that although spanking is the main topic in the RPG, characters are allowed to vent about other things, so not ALL excerpts may contain spanking. Also know that the game has been going on for years, re-starting many times, so settings, characters, and their situations will change often.

Last night I had my first experience fighting a Horror here in St. Louis, and I learned something. Horrors are the same everywhere, they’re all ugly, vicious manifestations of the worst humankind has to offer. The only difference between this one and the ones I’m used to is that this one spoke English.

From the time I left Richard’s until the time I returned was about two hours. A lot of that was travel (I still don’t know the city very well), then there was the time it took to fight the Horror itself, and to get back, so all in all I think two hours total was pretty good.

However, when I got back, Richard still pounced on me (well, not literally, but he was right THERE at the door.) He demanded to know where I went, and – oh, nevermind. Here’s the play-by-play, complete with cast:

Me: (the hero, resident Makai Knight):
CF: (Control Freak, otherwise known as Richard, out to control the hero’s every move, maybe even his thoughts!)
TCG: (Totally Cool Guy or Oz)
SS: (Sexy Sidekick, or Silva)

Me: (coming in the door and seeing Control Freak standing there with arms folded) Let me guess, you’re posing for a commemorative statue?

CF: I’ve been waiting for you to get back. What made you think you could just take off without a word, RAWRR! (note: okay, that last part was added by me.)

Me: I gave word – I told Oz (who enters right on cue). Isn’t that right, Oz? I told you I was going out.

TCG: He did, Richard. I told you, remember?

CF: It’s not enough to just say you’re ‘going out’! You’re here because you’re a new wolf and we don’t know how it’s going to affect your normal routine! Before you go anywhere, I need to assess your state of mind.

Me: Richard, if I’m going out because Silva has sensed a Horror, my state of mind is saying, “Kill it before it kills someone else!” I can’t sit here and play Twenty Questions with you at a time like that.

CF: (pinning me with the adult-type patented Stare of Doom™) And I can’t let you go if there’s a chance you’ll lose control.

SS: If you don’t trust Zero, you can trust me. I am always acutely aware of his state of mind, and would not hesitate to say so if I thought anything was amiss.

CF: (frowning, or maybe pouting – either way he looked petulant) I don’t know….

TCG: You agreed to his terms, Richard. You can’t backtrack now. Besides, you really DON’T want to let the city get overrun with Horrors, believe me.

Me: They eat werewolves, too. I’m proof of that.

CF: All right, all right. (looks at me all doom-and-gloomy-like) But from now on, if you go out, I need to know where you’re going. Use your phone and call or text me, but either way, let me know. I know your scent now, but even I’m not good enough to find one person in the whole of St. Louis.

Me: (grinning cheekily) Why don’t you just put one of those radio collars on me like they do on Wild Kingdom?

CF: (there’s that Stare of Doom™ again) Don’t tempt me.

I took that as my cue to shut up.

I hope I won’t have to go through this EVERY night, but I already know that Richard and I are going to be butting heads a lot. I apologize in advance, Oz, for the stuff you’re going to have to put up with from both of us (and thanks, Totally Cool Guy, for sticking up for me.)

Kyo already told you what happened from his perspective, and I’m not going to argue with him. I DID call him an idiot, and a few other things once the physical fight started in earnest. While I of course knew why he didn’t want the girl getting too close, I found it frustrating that he couldn’t keep his cool and find a tactful way of fending her off. It’s how I usually handle it, and while I might be accused of being cold now and then, at least I don’t get sent to the Principal’s office for it!

This time, however, that’s exactly what happened after Kyo took off, leaving me to have to answer for both of us. _I_ was the one who called Shigure, because the Principal made me. He came and picked me up, but in the meantime I had to listen to the Principal lecture me on ‘appropriate classroom behaviour.’ As if I don’t know that already! I think he REALLY wanted to be scolding Kyo, but he wasn’t there, so I was the best next thing.

Shigure was all friendly with the Principal, who seemed to like him (for some reason), and agreed that he could handle my punishment at home. I’ll admit, I kind of hoped that it was for the Principal’s benefit only, and that I didn’t have to worry about any kind of punishment.

As it turned out, though, Hatori had been with Shigure when I made the call to the house, so he was waiting. Shigure left after dropping me off so he could go search for Kyo, leaving me alone with Doctor Doom.

“Yuki, how many times do we have to have this conversation?” he asked.

“One too many?” was the first brilliant thing I blurted out. Not the best idea, from the look he gave me.

“If you like, we can drop the conversation and go straight to the punishment,” he warned in an even tone.

I probably blushed, and I definitely averted my eyes. “Sorry.”

“We all know Kyo has a volatile temper, but if you held your tongue when he’s getting on your nerves, things would never escalate to the physical.”

I didn’t know about NEVER, but it seemed like a bad idea to mention that, so I just kept my gaze on the floor, looking properly contrite.

“Now Kyo is missing – how will you feel if something happens to him?”

I had to look up at him in disbelief. “He was missing for three months when he was off training in the mountains and nothing happened to him, Hatori.”

He obviously didn’t like having logic pointed out to him and slammed his hands down on the desk. “FINE, we’ll cut to the chase then and you can work it out on your own time – I have to go help Shigure find Kyo.”

He picked up the ruler, pushed me over the desk and began whacking me with it. After reading Kyo’s experience, I can tell you that mine had a lot more anger and frustration behind it, which I suppose I caused myself. I don’t mean to indicate my punishment hurt more, just that it felt more like Hatori was fed up with me, not that he was trying to teach me anything. Or maybe I was just feeling bitter that he seemed to blame me for Kyo’s problems.

Later on, after Kyo had been found, when I was going to bed, Hatori did come in to say goodnight to me and asked if I was all right. I told him I was, but I really wasn’t. I’m over it now, but … it just hasn’t been a fun week.

I decided to take Haru’s advice and talk to either Shigure or Ayame about my issues with Hatori. It was a tough call, since neither one of them seems to take anything seriously. I finally decided to go to my brother and give him a chance to act like a human being instead of a freak.

I was lucky to find him alone in the kitchen. “Niisan, I need to talk to you –“ His eyes widened with rapture and he spread his arms wide, opening his mouth to spew something gushing and idiotic. I put my hand over his face. “If you go ballistic on me, I’m walking out! Just stay calm.”

He lowered his arms and took a deep breath. “All right, Yuki, what is it?”

I told him how I’d been feeling since the conversation with Hatori and how it bothered me. He listened, and looked very concerned.

“I’m sorry if you’ve felt that Hatori is blaming you, Yuki,” he said. “I’m sure that isn’t the case, but I can see why it would seem like it from your position.”

“How can you be so sure, Niisan?” I asked. “How do you know Hatori doesn’t just think ‘Kyo’s the Cat, so he has reasons for acting the way he does, so it must be Yuki who is really responsible for the fights.’?”

Ayame gave me a strangely sad look. “I’m sure because Hatori is all too familiar with being blamed for circumstances that aren’t his fault.” He put an arm around my shoulder. “Every time Akito forces him to use his power to wipe someone’s memory, it’s Hatori who takes the blame, isn’t it?”

I stared at him. He was right, and I was just as guilty of it as anyone, maybe even more so. I had never quite forgiven Hatori for erasing the memories of my childhood friends, even though I knew it was by Akito’s command that he did it. I had also never completely trusted him because of it. I was guilty of doing to Hatori what I only THOUGHT he’d been doing to me.

“Thank you, Niisan,” I said sincerely. “I understand now.”

He nodded and smiled, and I left the room. Behind me I heard the beeping of his cell phone and him chirping, “Tori-san, guess what? Yuki came to me with tears in his eyes on bended knees, begging for me, his all-wise older brother, to help him with a personal problem!”

For once, I just let it rest and allowed him to enjoy himself. I knew he wouldn’t give Hatori details (if Hatori hadn’t already hung up on him, that is.) I’m not going to talk to Hatori myself – there’s no need now. But I’m going to keep this conversation in mind next time we have any kind of conflict and I get any ideas about feeling sorry for myself.
